Senior Guidance Call

Some students just want a few recommendations - they don’t need regular help or a course as they navigate their applications. For families who want to learn a little bit more about the process and get some personalized recommendations, this call is a great option.

We Might Discuss:

  • High School Transcript - how it will be evaluated, and any recommendations for the applications related to the transcript

  • Test Scores - if tests should be (re)taken, if a student should submit scores, and how to prepare

  • High School Activity List - how to create the list, what might be missing, and how to spend the summer

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation - who/how/when to ask, what colleges need letters, how important might they be in the application

  • Essay(s) - how the college essay is different than high school essays, how many/what types of essays the student will have, what topics to focus on (or avoid)

  • The College List - what colleges the student is considering, any recommendations from Jensen to consider, types of colleges and what to consider with the budget. Potential for merit aid may also be discussed

  • Major(s) - if the student has a major in mind, how to prepare applications for the major and what paths to consider with the major. If the student is exploring majors, we will discuss ways to do that and share explorations in the applications

  • Other questions and recommendations relevant to the student and family

The Logistics

This call is best for families who want some questions and recommendations specific to their student. This is not for families who want to regularly work 1:1 moving forward. The student and at least one parent must be present in this meeting.

A follow up email with any relevant resources will be sent after the meeting to the student and parent(s).

Guidance calls typically last 1.5 hours, but could be a bit shorter if a family does not have many questions. Time will be limited to 1.5 hours maximum.

Payment is due in advance of the meeting and is accepted via Zelle or Venmo. Details will be sent upon confirmation of scheduling.

Cost: $275
